Teatro Il Lavatoio
The Lavatoio Theatre (Teatro il Lavatoio) is Santarcangelo’s theatre space, a public space that belongs to everyone and that hosts shows, encounters, residencies, and workshops for young people and adults. It is run by the Santarcangelo Festival Association, a centre recognized internationally for its artist residencies programme, which features exchanges between local and international partners and research projects selected through public calls. Each year it hosts up to 150 artists, who are also invited to use the hall. Among the annual activities involving local students are Let’s Revolution!, a workshop run by the Teatro Patalò, and the non-scuola by Teatro delle Albe run by Zoe Teatro, which welcomes the participation of over fifty local middle-school students every year. Within the public space of the Lavatoio Theatre, Santarcangelo Festival organizes an intense programme of sharing, open trials and encounters.
The hall is available for rent by outsiders; it has 148 seats.
