Alex Baczyński-Jenkins Warsaw, Poland / Berlin, Germany
Unending love, or love dies, on repeat like it’s endless

After presenting the performance “Untitled. Holding Horizon” at last year’s Festival, Alex Baczyński-Jenkins returns to Santarcangelo with a choreography reflecting the relationship between desire, dance, fragmentation, love (as commonality) and time. Through gesture, sensuality, touch and relationality, Baczyński-Jenkins’s practice unfolds structures and politics of desire. Relationality is present in the dialogic ways in which the work is developed and performed, as well as in the materials and poetics it invokes: the performance traces relations between sensation and sociality, expression and alienation, the textures of everyday experience, utopias and queer influences. Baczyński-Jenkins approaches choreography as an opportunity to reflect on matters of feeling, perception and collective emergency while indulging in other ways of experiencing memory, time and change.
