Marie Losier will arrive in Santarcangelo with a unique project: she will create a film set, a cabin of wonders inspired by the films of Carmelo Bene and Sergei Parajanov. Spectators (upon reservation) will be invited to come in, alone or accompanied, and participate in some simple scenes with original objects and costumes, which will become part of the short film Shoot and Smile!. A small studio in which to play with the artist and her ever-present Bolex 16mm camera. Marie, with fun and unusual make-up and outfits, will engage the audience through the eternal and universal language of cinema, creating unexpected and eccentric portraits of the participants. The full-length film, created with in-camera editing, will later be developed in her Parisian studio and will celebrate the city, the festival and the magic of cinema.

Marie Losier is a French director and curator. She worked in New York for twenty years exhibiting her productions at museums, galleries and festivals, including Cannes Film Festival, Berlinale, Rotterdam Film Festival, IDFA, Tate Modern, MoMA, Le Palais de Tokyo, Le Centre Georges Pompidou and La Cinémathèque Française. Extravagant, poetic, dreamlike and unconventional, her films explore the lives and works of the artists she portrays.
