Se respira en el jardín como en un bosque (You breathe in the garden as you do in the forest) is a show for one person. The spectator alternates between occupying the roles of the performer and the spectator through two elementary gestures typical of the performing arts: watching in silence while someone performs actions on stage. Starting from this primary theatrical convention that has lasted for hundreds of years, El Conde de Torrefiel proposes a scenic game woven from a narration and sustained by simple movements. From this experience emerges a reflection on the understanding of reality, on the ability to construct it, as happens in theatre, and on the pleasure of observing in silence.

BIO
Pablo Gisbert and Tanya Beyeler formed the artistic project El Conde de Torrefiel in 2010, working on the pursuit of a language capable of transcending and dissecting the reality of the 21st century. Mixing choreographic, literary and visual elements, they create unusual and non-linear narratives that question the tensions between individual and community, composing their works as necessary appeals for a concrete time and moment. Their performances have been presented in Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay, in Asian cities such as Seoul and Tokyo and in European contexts such as Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels, Paris’ Festival d’Automne, Lisbon’s Alkantara Festival, Théâtre de Vidy in Lausanne, Hebbel amb Ufer in Berlin, Short Theater in Rome, FOG-Triennale Performing Arts in Milan and many others.
