A focus on the workers’ bodies, measured bodies, crushed by the steamroller of productivity. Workers’ bodies in revolt, in uprising. Betrayed bodies, denied bodies, bodies erased by History. “FABRICA [ AAMOD ]” is part of the “FABRICA” project, an investigation of the bodies of labour. The body acts and suffers, it exists and hardly resists, it transforms. Over the years, repeated gestures creep into the folds of muscles, tendons and bones. Work marks the soul and body of an entire life. The capital modifies the body with work, educates it, and disciplines it according to a logic of enslavement to the capital itself. “FABRICA” is a long journey through the places and bodies of work, a journey to create an affective map of those bodies and places.

Paola Bianchi, a choreographer and dancer, has been active on the contemporary dance scene since the late 1980s. With her performances, she participates in national and international festivals. In 2014, Bianchi wrote “Corpo Politico. Distopia del gesto, utopia del movimento” (Editoria & Spettacolo) and numerous short essays focusing on the theme of body and dance. In 2020, she was the protagonist of “La parte maledetta. Viaggio ai confini del teatro. Paola Bianchi”, a film project by Teatro Akropolis. In 2020, she won the Rete critica Prize with ELP, an articulated research project linked to an in-depth investigation of the body, the relationships between bodies and the cultural imaginaries of which bodies are repositories.
