Elli de Mon / Vicenza, Italy

Concert

July 0722.30

Elli de Mon describes herself as guitars, bass drum, snare drum, rattles, saturated sounds and Indian psychedelia, a new blues, made of wild slides and contaminated by punk influences and Indian music. She is certainly all of this, but there’s obviously more, and this is more the case to come and see for yourself because her live performance is a boundless love for the blues; the care and firmness with which Elli dedicates herself to the guitar; her somewhat severe gaze which comes from total immersion in the music.
The new album by Elli de Mon, one woman band from Vicenza, looks for the roots from which everything started. Songs of Mercy and Desire is about evolution, change and acceptance, resilience and redemption. It is an autobiographical record, which tells of the places where Elli was born and raised. The acoustic and intimate sound reflects the particular period in which the songs were written and recorded, her pregnancy, leaving room for even more intimate ballads.
Elli has shared the stage with artists such as The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Afterhours, Reverend Beatman, The Monsters, Molly Gene One Woaman Band, Big John Bates, Chuck Ragan, Larry and His Flask, Cedric Burnside, Bror Gunnar Jansson, and Carmen Consoli.
