Our journey towards sustainability

HOW TO KEEP IMPROVING?

We want our commitment to sustainability to have a solid basis and to be as transparent as possible.

This is why in 2021 we began collaborating with HeraLAB, Uni.Rimini and the Tecnopolo di Rimini of the University of Bologna – Rimini Campus. Gruppo Hera financed a 12-month research grant to support the environmental impact analysis of Santarcangelo Festival. Francesco Suzzi, educator and designer in the field of sustainability and territorial development strategies, was the winner of the grant and from May 2022 to April 2023 he supported us in measuring, evaluating and monitoring all the impactful aspects of our activities. In May 2023 we presented the results of this first year of analysis during the conference Sostenibile è possibile? / Pratiche condivise per ridurre gli impatti degli eventi. Il caso di Santarcangelo Festival. Here you can find an excerpt from the presentation of the results.

Santarcangelo dei Teatri is a lead partner of the verdecultura network, among the winning entities of the contributions of the Capacity Building call for the Ecological Transition of Cultural and Creative Organisations of the NRRP, financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU. Together with our partners – Ecoarea of Rimini, CDCA partner of the Sustainable Culture program of Rome and ASSO – Agency for Sustainable Development of Verona – we have written and are developing two projects: Prima Vera: spring-school with capacity-building for event operators of high environmental and social value, which ended on 30 June; and Circolare: practices and tools for a sustainable and circular approach to culture, with which we are designing a platform for the shared purchase and exchange of goods and equipment for cultural events.
