Santarcangelo Festival is one of the founders of Anticorpi, a network of meetings, festivals and creative residencies held in Emilia-Romagna. It started in 2006 and focus on raising the work of dancers who perform in the broad context of live performance. With the formation of Anticorpi XL, the network now extends to a national level, a project bringing together 35 operators from 15 of the country’s regions, with eight different artistic approaches. Santarcangelo Festival carries through Anticorpi XL its activities aimed at supporting dance at the national and regional levels and promoting the artistic growth of young Italian choreographers.
Santarcangelo dei Teatri is leading partner of BE PART – Art BEyond PARTicipation, a 4-year audience and organisational programme in the field of participatory art practices implemented by 10 EU and non-EU parners, supported by Creative Europe. The project involves Artsadmin and Scottish Sculpture Workshop in the UK, Kunstencentrum Vooruit in Belgium, Kiasma in Finland, Homo Novus Festival in Latvia, Festival de Marseille – France, City of Women in Slovenia, L’art Rue in Tunisia, A Sense of Cork Mid-summer Arts Festival in Ireland. Together, the 10 partners in the next 4 years will carry out numerous activities in the field of participating artistic practices, aiming at the development of their own publics and organization. The aim is to create a network of shared creation supported collectively by artists and to promote new co-creation approaches and artistic mobility.
Boarding Pass Plus
Boarding Pass Plus is a project for professionalization and international mobility for dancers, choreographers, curators and producers under the age of 35, supported by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. Leaded by the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa and Operaestate – Festival Veneto, Boarding Pass Plus is supported by a network of partners that includes Inidsciplinarte (Terni), Piemonte dal Vivo – Lavanderia a Vapore (Turin), Santarcangelo Festival (Santarcangelo di Romagna), Short Theater (Rome). The project aims at the professional development of the organizations involved, through the interaction with international institutions and markets, identifying creative opportunities and sustainable projects, focusing on the internationalization of careers and artistic productions.
FONDO network per la creatività emergente
FONDO is a project coordinated by Santarcangelo dei Teatri and supported by AMAT Associazione Marchigiana Attività Teatrali, Centrale Fies, Emilia Romagna Teatro ERT / Teatro Nazionale, Fondazione Fabbrica Europa per le arti contemporanee, Fondazione I Teatri – Reggio Emilia, Fuorimargine / Centro di produzione della danza in Sardegna, L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora di Mondaino | Centro di Residenza Emilia-Romagna, Lavanderia a Vapore / Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, OperaEstate Festival Veneto / CSC Centro per la Scena Contemporanea, Ravenna Teatro, SCARTI Centro di Produzione Teatrale d’Innovazione della Liguria, Teatro Pubblico Campano, Teatro Pubblico Pugliese – Consorzio Regionale per le Arti e la Cultura, Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria, Triennale Milano Teatro.
Santarcangelo dei Teatri, in collaboration with 15 Italian partners, has built a network dedicated to the productive development and personal growth of emerging artists, supporting the research stages of performance projects that require long creation times. The programme includes production support of €20,000, four annual residency periods offered by the partners for each supported company, and participation in workshops/masterclasses led by international authors, a valuable moment of dramaturgical advice and comparison with the European scene. The 16 partners that constitute Fondo pursue various goals within the world of theatre and performing arts, addressing different needs concerning artistic productions, from their development to their circulation.
R.O.M. – Residencies on the Move
Born in 2019, the network ROM – Residencies on the Move is the result of cooperation between six European partners: La Balsamine (Schaerbeek / Belgium), Santarcangelo Festival (Santarcangelo di Romagna / Italy), le joli collectif – Théâtre de Poche & Théâtre l’Aire Libre (Hédé – St-Jacques de la Lande / France), Le Grütli (Geneva / Switzerland), Théâtre Périscope (Québec /Canada) and Théâtre Prospero (Montréal /Canada). The network is financed by the European Union through the Creative Europe program. R.O.M brings together spaces of creation to establish a network of residencies and distribution. The network is primarily based on sharing the partners respective experiences to support artists but also to share their expertise and practices. These special moments of meeting create links between artists and institutions, providing opportunities for future collaborations.
In Ex(ile) Lab
In Ex(ile) Lab is a two-year laboratory bringing together organisations based in France, Italy, Cyprus and Portugal. Co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, it is aimed at testing tailored transdisciplinary integration paths in which artists facing a condition of exile can grow as individuals and artists, in their host societies and the European space. The project is led by agency of artists in exile and developed and realised with Alkantara in Lisbon, Visual Voices in Nicosia and Santarcangelo Festival.
Throughout the two years of the project, In Ex(ile) Lab partners will furthermore seize the opportunity to adapt in real time their tools and methodologies of artistic support to the needs of exiled artists. The beneficiaries of the In Ex(ile) Lab one-year laboratory have been selected by the 4 partners through an open call and will take part to the international activities, meetings and artistic residencies planned.
Founded in Romagna in 2018, E’ Bal – palcoscenici per la danza contemporanea is a regional network supported by ATER Foundation with 15 partners, with the aim of establishing a network of theaters, festivals, entertainment associations and residency centers for the enhancement of contemporary dance. A regional program to offer the public the opportunity to cultivate a creative perspective on contemporary dance.

Santarcangelo Festival is a board member of Italiafestival (formerly Federfestival), a multidisciplinary association of Italian festivals founded in 1987 as part of AGIS (the General Italian Show Business Association), which is especially active in promotion and communication, and is itself associated with EFA (the European Festivals Association).
