Anticorpi XL
Santarcangelo Festival is one of the founders of Anticorpi, a network of meetings, festivals and creative residencies held in Emilia-Romagna. It started in 2006 and focus on raising the work of dancers who perform in the broad context of live performance. With the formation of Anticorpi XL, the network now extends to a national level, a project bringing together 35 operators from 15 of the country’s regions, with eight different artistic approaches. Santarcangelo Festival carries through Anticorpi XL its activities aimed at supporting dance at the national and regional levels and promoting the artistic growth of young Italian choreographers.
BE PART
Santarcangelo dei Teatri is leading partner of BE PART – Art BEyond PARTicipation, a 4-year audience and organisational programme in the field of participatory art practices implemented by 10 EU and non-EU parners, supported by Creative Europe. The project involves Artsadmin and Scottish Sculpture Workshop in the UK, VierNulVier in Belgium, Kiasma in Finland, Homo Novus Festival in Latvia, Festival de Marseille – France, City of Women in Slovenia, L’art Rue in Tunisia, A Sense of Cork Mid-summer Arts Festival in Ireland. Together, the 10 partners in the next 4 years will carry out numerous activities in the field of participating artistic practices, aiming at the development of their own publics and organization. The aim is to create a network of shared creation supported collectively by artists and to promote new co-creation approaches and artistic mobility.
blOOm: a network for one-on-one creations
blOOm originated from the shared desire of Armunia Teatro, IRA Institute, Santarcangelo Festival, Sardegna Teatro and Triennale Teatro Milano to create a project that transforms the relationship between the audience and artistic creations. Conceived to support one-on-one productions, blOOm creates intimate and personal experiences, favouring a direct exchange between companies and spectators. The three-year-long project shifts the perspective of artistic creation, promoting an intimate dimension instead of large-scale productions and deconstructing the traditional dynamics of the Italian theatre scene. The keywords of the project are: closeness, depth and dedication. Each year, the network will support an Italian company in creating one-on-one works that will then be programmed by the network partners. The only rule: one person at a time. The network has supported productions by Muna Mussie and the artistic duo Gaetano Palermo and Michele Petrosino.
E’ Bal. Palcoscenici per la danza contemporanea
Founded in Romagna in 2018, E’ Bal – palcoscenici per la danza contemporanea is a regional network supported by ATER Foundation with 15 partners, with the aim of establishing a network of theaters, festivals, entertainment associations and residency centers for the enhancement of contemporary dance. A regional program to offer the public the opportunity to cultivate a creative perspective on contemporary dance.

Coop. (Villa Torlonia Teatro), Teatro del Drago – Teatro Comunale di Gambettola.
FONDO: a network for emerging creativity
Santarcangelo dei Teatri, in collaboration with 13 Italian partners, has built a network dedicated to the productive development and personal growth of emerging artists, supporting the research stages of performance projects that require long creation times. The programme includes € 20.000 of production support, four annual residency periods offered by the partners for each supported company, and participation in at least four workshops or masterclasses led by international authors, a valuable moment of dramaturgical advice and comparison with the European scene.
The 14 partners that constitute FONDO pursue various goals within the world of theatre and performing arts, addressing different needs concerning artistic productions, from their development to their circulation: AMAT Associazione Marchigiana Attività Teatrali, BiG – Bari International Gender Festival, Centrale Fies, Emilia Romagna Teatro ERT / Teatro Nazionale, Fondazione I Teatri – Reggio Emilia, Fuorimargine / Centro di produzione della danza in Sardegna, L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora di Mondaino | Centro di Residenza Emilia-Romagna, Lavanderia a Vapore / Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, OperaEstate Festival Veneto / CSC Centro per la Scena Contemporanea, Ravenna Teatro, Santarcangelo dei Teatri, Spazio Franco / Mercurio Festival – Palermo, Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria, Triennale Milano Teatro. Dal 2022 il network ha sostenuto la ricerca di Agnese Banti, Emilia Verginelli, Collettivo Ønar, Elena Rivoltini, Vashish Soobah, Genny Petrotta, Giorgiomaria Cornelio, Wissal Houbabi e Violetta Cottini. Italiafestival
Santarcangelo Festival is a board member of Italiafestival (formerly Federfestival), a multidisciplinary association of Italian festivals founded in 1987 as part of AGIS (the General Italian Show Business Association), which is especially active in promotion and communication, and is itself associated with EFA (the European Festivals Association).
LANDING
Created in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, LANDING aims to strengthen the presence of young Italian artists in the international circuit of contemporary performing arts. In 2025, the network was able to organise several art residencies in collaboration with important international partners: Reykjavik Dance Festival, CND in Paris, Dom Utopii, Theaterformen Festival, Gessnerallee in Zurich and Passages Festival Metz. Over the coming years, the collaboration will continue with Zodiak in Helsinki, Graner in Barcelona and Casa Farofa in São Paulo. LANDING will allow emerging Italian artists to develop their creative paths within an international context, fostering professional connections abroad.
R.O.M – Residencies on the Move
Created in 2019 by La Balsamine, le joli collectif and the Grütli and joined in 2023 by Santarcangelo Festival, Théâtre Périscope and Théâtre Prospero and in 2025 by Reykjavik Dance Festival, R.O.M brings together creation and dissemination spaces working in collaboration to build a network of residencies and dissemination. This network is based first of all on the sharing of our respective experiences and on our will to confront ourselves with other expertise in the accompaniment of artists, other ways of functioning, but also to mutualize our means. As “friends theaters”, we invite artists to live and work in our structures each season. These are privileged moments of encounters that create links between artists and institutions, opportunities for future collaborations directly linked to the creative process.

Festival SPA
Festival SPA joins three renowned and vibrant summer festivals of contemporary performing arts: Santarcangelo Festival (IT), Mladi Levi Festival (SI) and Homo Novus Festival (LV), all linked by a specific focus on the well-being of artists, audiences and cultural operators. Festival SPA aims to develop a format that further improves the well-being and social inclusion of both festival workers and festival-goers, creating safe, soft and slow spaces to calmly enjoy art. A team of curators, producers, artists and experts will investigate the needs of those who participate in these festivals to propose organisational and production changes. Festival SPA will promote the artistic creation of care gestures for the public and the design of real SPAs: spaces for rest, peace and care. The collaboration between festivals will involve several aspects, including production, curatorship and the exchange of experiences. We will all learn and take care of each other.

Gessnerallee Zürich – Exchange Programme
The collaboration between Gessnerallee Zürich and Santarcangelo Festival fosters artistic mobility and cultural dialogue between Switzerland and Italy, strengthening connections between institutions, territories and performative practices. The first edition supports Diana Anselmo’s “Pas Moi” and Tiran Willemse and Melika Ngombe Kolongo (Nkisi)’s “When the calabash breaks”, both engaged in residencies and public presentations in both Santarcangelo and Zürich. Funded by the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (within the framework of the LANDING programme), the exchange supports the international development of artistic practices, with a focus on body, voice and sound, and a critical approach to normative narratives. The long-term ambition is to establish a continuous platform for collaboration and mutual exchange, enabling new transnational artistic trajectories to emerge and grow. At a time marked by increasing closures and fragmentation, this collaboration affirms the vital importance of international cultural exchange as a space for encounter, dialogue and transformation.
